Dear Parents,
My name is Donna Confer. The children call me Ms. Confer. I am delighted to be teaching math, spelling, and handwriting to grades 1st - 4th. I am looking forward to a fantastic year of teaching your child many new and exciting things.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived in the suburbs for twenty-one years. I attended both public and private schools. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education at Northern Illinois University and acquired my Illinois Teaching Certificate for Grades 1-8.
Upon moving to Florida, I got my Florida Teaching Certificate. I have kept it current by taking numerous Teachers' Workshops and graduate courses. I have taught public school in the counties of Lee and Broward.
I started teaching at Julie Rohr Academy in 1980. I love the family atmosphere of the school! I am a member of the NCTM, which is the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. This keeps me informed of the current teaching trends and techniques of math. I have also been honored by a former accomplished student who nominated me for the publication, Who's Who Among America's Teachers. I am listed in the 2005-2006 Edition.
My website will make communication between us extremely easy. Please refer to it daily. At the site you will find pertinent information, which includes: homework, spelling words, a supply list, grades, and my email address.
I am looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Please drop in to say hi. If you wish to contact me, please call the office. I will return all phone calls and emails during my planning time
*DO MATH*
And You Can Do Anything!
Sincerely,
Donna Confer
