Dear Parents,
I want to welcome everyone as we find ourselves once again at the beginning of the school year. Summer sure goes by quickly. Unbelievably, I am going into my seventh year here at Julie Rohr Academy.
I have always taught the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes. But this year, I am adding the 5th grade to my class schedule as well. I am excited to be working with that group, and I will have them ready to begin middle school the following year. We do all kinds of things in language arts class, such as vocabulary, spelling, reading novels, comprehension, language, and grammar. It is a great deal of work, but with so many components to language arts, there is something for everyone.
Some personal information about me is that I grew up in Virginia and graduated from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I have a temporary certificate to teach secondary education language arts.
I have two sons, as well as a new addition this year, a baby girl. Jonah is going into the 8th grade and I am anxious to think that he will be starting high school in only one year. He played "Fleming" in this year's production of Babes in Arms. Micah is going into middle school this year here at JRA, and I cannot believe he is that old. Both of them love school, and are very good at sports. My girl, Annika, will be one year old in November, and is the sweetest baby! Life is fun!
I love teaching and cannot wait to get this year started. If you need to talk with me, you may always call the office and I will return your call that day. Email is also a great way to keep up with your child's progress, so don't hesitate to email me at

. I also have a website that is updated with the homework assignments. I look forward to seeing everyone again, and I can't wait to get to know all of our new parents and students.
Sincerely,
