Private Music Lessons

Private music lessons in piano, voice, violin, and accordion are available at JRA for students ages five and up. The teacher is Dr. Julia W. Rohr, founder of Julie Rohr Academy and Julie Rohr Music Studios. Dr. Rohr taught in the public schools in Sarasota County for thirty years while maintaining a private studio. She was also director of the Sarasota Choral Society for thirty-five years and founded both the Sarasota Boy’s Choir and Girl’s Choir. Both choirs actively performed locally, nationally, and internationally for many years under her direction. She has received many local and state awards for the arts over the years and the City of Sarasota proclaimed November 28th, 2004 “Dr. Julia W. Rohr Day.” She teaches at JRA every day.

Class piano is also available for three, four, and five year olds, taught by Roberta Hamilton. Roberta also had a lengthy career in the Sarasota County Public Schools and is active in several Sarasota arts organizations.
